Chemical doses
- Doses assume the product strength you enter. Real products vary by brand, age and storage, and liquid chlorine loses strength over time.
- Add chemicals in smaller steps than calculated, circulate, retest and adjust. It is easier to add more than to take some out.
- Never mix chemicals, always add chemicals to water (not water to chemicals), and wear the protection the label requires.
- The manufacturer's label always takes precedence over any result on this site.
Equipment and construction
Pump, filter and heater sizes are starting points based on simplified methods. Final selection should account for the full plumbing layout, local codes and the manufacturer's specifications. Electrical, gas and structural work must be done by licensed professionals.
Prices and costs
